From the real time visual information gathered, the agency can assist in informing the appropriate parties such as the road management services, police, fire or ambulance services to specifics relating to the site of the incident before their arrival.

However not all of the highways are installed with fixed CCTV monitoring capabilities, for this the highways agency were looking for a solution that would give them the ability to visually manage these locations at such times as an incident or accident had occurred.

The solution adopted was to mount a camera onto one of the agencies road management service vehicles. This would allow the agency to rapidly deploy the vehicle to a location of a reported incident and would resolve the information gap created by not having a permanently fixed CCTV system in place at the location.

With the mobile solution in place the control room can now collect quality real-time visual information to assist the emergency services.

Because the solution involved a camera mounted on a vehicle Triple P, the integrator, needed to find a method of getting the mobile data back to the control room, several transmission possibilities were considered but in the end the option of transmission via a 3G-network turned out to be the best option.

For this option Triple P choose to use Call Directs CDR-780seu, for its high speed capabilities, reliability, and rugged enclosure.
